The Ghent Neighborhood is located in the Southwestern part of the City of Norfolk, bordered by 21st Street on the North, the Hague and Brambleton Avenue on the South, Hampton Boulevard on the West, and Monticello Avenue on the East. The neighborhood contains many attractions and services including: Harrison Opera House, Colley Avenue restaurants and entertainment, Eastern Virginia Medical School, Sentara Hospital, and The Chrysler Museum. A majority of the homes in the neighborhood are from the early 1900s and 1910s, with small or no yards for a true city living feel. Because the neighborhood is so close to the Freemason and West Ghent Neighborhoods, there are a mix of Single Family, Townhomes, and Condominiums.
The neighborhood public schools are Maury High School, Blair Middle School, and Taylor Elementary School.
Single family homes for sale in the neighborhood ranged from $300,000 for approximately 1400 square feet to $850,000 for 6000 square feet, with several homes that face The Hague over $1 Million dollars. Townhomes are on the market for $250,000 for approximately 2000 square feet, and Condominiums are $200,000 for approximately 800 square feet.
